Summary
Lincoln Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Health Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting the physical, mental, and social well-being of our students through engaging and comprehensive health education. This role involves designing and implementing an innovative curriculum that encourages students to adopt healthy lifestyles and make informed decisions regarding their health.
Responsibilities
– Develop and deliver health education lessons that align with state standards and school curriculum.
– Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and participation.
– Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning and development.
– Collaborate with colleagues to integrate health education across various subjects and school activities.
– Organize and lead health-related programs, workshops, and events that promote wellness within the school community.
– Stay informed about current health trends and educational practices to enhance teaching effectiveness.
– Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding health education topics and student progress.
– Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments.
– Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching skills and knowledge.
– Support students in developing critical thinking skills related to health and wellness issues.
Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Health Education.
– Valid teaching certification in Health Education for middle school level.
– Prior experience teaching health education is preferred.
– Strong understanding of health and wellness topics, including nutrition, physical fitness, mental health, and substance abuse prevention.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
– Ability to create engaging lesson plans and utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
– Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
