Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance with product selections, including conducting product demos when applicable
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain organized merchandising displays to attract customers and promote featured products
- Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and ensure products are properly labeled and priced
- Assist with inventory management by performing stock counts, receiving deliveries, and organizing back-stock
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, guiding shoppers through store policies, and maintaining phone etiquette when assisting via phone
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and retail sales transactions
- Strong communication skills, including friendly phone etiquette and active listening
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and balancing registers accurately
- Experience in grocery or liquor store environments is preferred but not required
