Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Oyster Shucker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and experience in food handling, particularly in seafood preparation. As an Oyster Shucker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests enjoy fresh and delicious oysters, contributing to our restaurant's reputation for quality and excellence.
Duties
- Skillfully shuck oysters with precision and care, ensuring the highest quality presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the oyster station and surrounding kitchen area.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to prepare oysters for various menu items and special requests.
- Assist in meal preparation by preparing garnishes and accompaniments for oysters.
- Follow all food safety guidelines and best practices in food handling to ensure the safety of our guests.
- Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal oyster selections and pairings.
- Help train new kitchen staff on proper oyster shucking techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in a restaurant or culinary setting, is preferred.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and menu planning is a plus.
- Familiarity with dietary department standards and food handling regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
