Emergency Room Nurse
Shift - Night Shift, 6pm - 6:30am
Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Emergency Room Nurse and become a vital part of delivering high-quality, fast-paced emergency care. In this role, you will provide critical nursing services to patients experiencing urgent health issues, ensuring swift assessment, treatment, and stabilization.
Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and initial triage to prioritize care based on acuity levels.
- Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, suturing, and medication administration following established protocols.
- Operate advanced medical equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and laboratory analyzers; ensure proper aseptic techniques during procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans aligned with emergency medicine standards.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR systems; maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage airway interventions, perform intubations when necessary, and handle acute pain management to stabilize critically ill patients.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to support timely diagnosis.
- Provide patient education on post-emergency care instructions, discharge planning, and follow-up procedures.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of proven experience working in emergency medicine settings
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Iowa RN license
- BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required
