American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Inpatient Rehab position in Independence, MO, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Inpatient rehabilitation unit located on the 4th floor of a main hospital building
-
16-bed unit with a 1:5 patient-to-nurse ratio
-
PCT support available when census is at 8 or above; no unit secretary on staff
-
Equipment includes Sara Steady lift, Hoyer lift, and Alaris Pumps
-
Documentation system: Meditech 5.6
-
Schedule requires 3 shifts per week, every 3rd weekend
-
Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
-
Contract duration: 12 weeks
-
Travelers float first to like units per the floating policy
-
Active MO or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)

Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient rehab RN experience

Med/Surg nursing experience required
-
Familiarity with FIM and CARE Tool measures preferred

US SSN and DOB required for consideration

Two professional references required
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Responsibilities include wound care, IV line insertion, and blood and antibiotic administration

Patient care duties include goal setting with patients, hourly rounding, and bedside shift report
-
One-week orientation is included in the contract

Current unit staff have 4 or more years of RN experience, offering a strong and experienced support team

All rooms are private and set up as Rehab Suites with new equipment
-
Block scheduling is available upon request

The unit's PEM Quality metric of 83.8% exceeds the national benchmark
-
Grey scrub top with black or grey scrub bottoms required
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
