Job Summary
Dolphin Carpet & Tile is seeking an experienced Controller/Accountant to oversee financial operations across our multiple store locations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can manage day-to-day financial functions while also handling higher-level reporting, compliance, and cash flow management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting activities including general ledger management, account/balance sheet reconciliation, and month-end/year-end close processes
- Lead the preparation of accurate monthly financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP
- Record, audit, and reconcile payments and receipts across multiple store locations, including bank deposits, credit card transactions, and chargeback resolution
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Manage cash flow, treasury operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Manage and run payroll, including tax withholding
- Manage regulatory compliance and prepare/file corporate, state, and local filings for federal, state, and local agencies (including governmental and non-profit sectors where applicable)
- Lead the team through audits, regulatory reporting, and year-end closing activities
- Track insurance and licensing compliance for subcontractors
- Handle HR-related responsibilities
- Manage accounting systems and optimize their use for data analysis and reporting
- Compile financial reports and business data to support leadership decision-making
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and general ledger functions
- Experience with month-end/year-end close processes
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and other relevant software
- Prior experience in payroll, HR, or multi-location accounting a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel data analysis), financial software, and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
- Skilled in cash management strategies, cost accounting analysis, and financial forecasting.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with strong technical accounting acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
