Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Hybrid Dental Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist transitioning to office manager position to join our dynamic team. This unique role is structured as a split-schedule hybrid position: you will operate strictly as a Front Desk Receptionist on designated days (3-4days) and strictly as a Clinical Dental Assistant on alternative days (1-2days). Responsibilities do not overlap within the same working day, allowing you to focus entirely on administrative excellence or high-level clinical care.
Mon~ Fri, 9am ~ 5pm schedule.
On clinical days, you will support providers during advanced surgical procedures, ensuring an efficient, safe, and comfortable experience for patients.
On administrative days, you will serve as the face and voice of our practice, managing scheduling, patient intake, and front-office operations.
Duties
Clinical Days (Dental Assistant)
-Assist providers during advanced surgical procedures, including extractions, implants, and complex oral surgery treatments, utilizing precise four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and necessary materials, maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
-Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs and 3D imaging (CBCT) for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
-Monitor patient vital signs and review updated medical histories prior to surgical procedures.
-Provide thorough patient education regarding pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
-Perform full instrument sterilization, turnaround, and maintenance of surgery rooms and sterilization areas.
Administrative Days (Front Desk Receptionist), We can provide training.
-Manage front-office operations, including greeting patients, answering phone calls, and handling check-in/check-out procedures.
-Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and professional presentation of the reception area, waiting room, front desk, and public restrooms throughout the day to ensure an excellent first impression.
-Coordinate and optimize patient scheduling, manage appointment books, and follow up on recall systems.
-Handle insurance verification, patient billing, processing payments, and updating financial records.
-Submitting Pre-authorization and follow up.
-Manage incoming referrals and coordinate communication between patients, specialized providers, and external offices.
-Maintain practice management software with high accuracy, ensuring compliance with strict patient privacy guidelines.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a specialized dental setting (Oral Surgery), preferably with the elderly.
- Familiarity with dental assisting procedures, including chairside assisting, X-ray techniques, and infection control practices.
- Knowledge of dental practice management software for managing patient data efficiently.
- Proven experience working as front desk role and have in depth understanding of Insurance billing, Insurance verification, Pre- authorization, Credentialinig and etc.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy.
- Experience in both geriatric and pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Ability to perform dental imaging procedures including X-rays and 3D scans (optional) accurately.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages.
