PLASTEC Ventilation manufactures corrosion-resistant exhaust systems built for demanding environments such as laboratories, hospitals, schools, and industrial facilities. We're a small yet mighty team that values accuracy and reliability. We're looking for a part-time Accounting Assistant to support our financial operations.
This is a supporting role within our accounting department, best suited for someone who has worked in an accounting environment before and is comfortable owning their piece of the work. You'll collaborate closely with our accounting staff on day-to-day financial tasks and help keep our books clean and current.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in our ERP system and other accounting tools
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, billing, payments, and aging follow-up
- Process and track expenses, supporting accurate and timely financial reporting
- Organize and maintain financial documents and filing systems
- Assist with account reconciliations, data verifications and month-end close procedures
- Review financial documents and reports for accuracy
Skills we're looking for:
- Proficiency in ERP software (Syspro familiarity is a bonus) + Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
- Solid bookkeeping or accounting background... you understand debits, credits, and why details matter
- A good grasp of the full Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycle
- Familiarity with payroll processing, journal entries, and month-end close procedures
- Organized and consistent with records management and document control
- Reliable, process-driven, and able to work independently within established procedures and ask questions/flag issues when they arise
This is a part-time position offering flexible scheduling within our standard business hours. Compensation starts at $22/hr, commensurate with experience.
