About the Role:
As a Cook, you'll play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience for our residents by preparing and serving nutritious meals tailored to specific dietary needs, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. Your efforts will directly impact the well-being and satisfaction of those we serve!
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Food Handler's Card required.
- Strong commitment to personal hygiene and cleanliness.
- Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with food handling, preparation, and cooking techniques preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals, ensuring all food reaches safe temperatures.
- Follow recipes and menu plans, accommodating special dietary needs and portion sizes.
- Serve meals to residents, guests, and staff.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
- Maintain food records and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are clean and in good working condition.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely, following proper procedures.
- Adhere to sanitation, safety, and infection control protocols.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food preparation regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
- Follow best practices aligned with residents' care plans.
- Conduct yourself professionally and in line with facility policies.
- Foster positive interactions with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Provide excellent customer service to support resident care.
- Participate in identifying and addressing staff training needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for handling kitchen tools and equipment.
- Skill in reaching, bending, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Stamina to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
