The Columbia County Treasurer's Office is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Fiscal Technician to join our team.
Working under the direction of the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer, the Fiscal Technician is responsible for the accurate interpretation and application of revenue into the County's financial management system (MUNIS). This position processes and receipts federal, state, and local revenue while ensuring the accuracy, verification, reconciliation, and timely entry of financial data. The successful candidate will also perform related accounting and clerical duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with fund accounting and/or multi-company accounting preferred.
- The ability to accurately process high-volume, confidential, and time-sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- A willingness to learn new responsibilities and procedures.
- Good clerical aptitude, typing skills, and sound accounting judgment.
- Professionalism, tact, courtesy, and the ability to work effectively with the public and fellow employees.
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.) Graduation from a regionally accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics and two (2) years full-time, paid experience in these fields; OR
B.) Graduation from a regionally accredited two (2) year college or university with an Associate’s degree in the (a) above fields and four (4) years of paid experience in these fields; OR
C.) An equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated in(a) and (b) above; OR
D.) Six (6) years experience with a strong focus on account management in a municipal accounting setting.
