Responsibilities
- Conduct dynamic swim lessons for children, focusing on water safety, swimming techniques, and confidence-building exercises
- Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and enjoyment among young learners
- Monitor children closely during lessons to ensure safety at all times, adhering to all pool safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and safety concerns
- Incorporate sports-specific training instruction such as soccer or cheerleading elements to enhance coordination and teamwork skills when appropriate
- Manage behavior effectively through behavior management strategies to maintain a respectful and focused learning environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the swimming area, ensuring all equipment is safe and properly stored
Skills
- Prior experience working with children in educational or recreational settings, especially in swimming or sports coaching
- Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate techniques clearly and confidently
- Lifeguard experience with current certification in First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator), and water rescue techniques
- Knowledge of martial arts such as Karate or climbing activities that promote discipline and coordination is a plus
- Experience teaching physical education or sports-specific training like soccer coaching or basketball instruction
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively
- Proven ability to lead teams or groups in sports coaching environments while demonstrating leadership qualities
- Childcare experience combined with behavior management skills to handle diverse needs of young learners confidently
- Familiarity with health club or gym environments that support physical activity programs for children
