Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient services. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, assisting with medical procedures, and supporting administrative functions within a fast-paced medical environment. Experience in hospital settings, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is highly valued. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering high-quality patient service.
Duties
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings
- Support physicians with medication administration and basic life support when necessary
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately for documentation and billing purposes
- Prepare patients for X-ray imaging or other diagnostic tests as required
- Assist with ICD coding and documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Support hospital staff in various departments such as Geriatrics, Medical-Surgical units, PICU, OR, or Level I/II trauma centers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and equipment
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing patient concerns and ensuring comfort during visits
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine settings
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration
- Experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions
- Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred
- Prior experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous
- Familiarity with clinic procedures across specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or medical-surgical units
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments including urgent care or hospital inpatient units
- Must meet all licensing requirements applicable to the state of employment
