Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of trucks including manual transmission vehicles, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to transport freight across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor-trailers and other vehicles to verify safety compliance and vehicle readiness.
- Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during routes.
- Assist with special freight handling requirements such as refrigerated goods or hazardous materials when applicable.
Requirements
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving environments; delivery driver experience preferred.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type; endorsements for tanker or hazardous materials are a plus.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using equipment like forklifts when needed; experience with load securing is essential.
- Strong knowledge of route planning and driving safety regulations across different jurisdictions.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform vehicle inspections or cargo handling tasks as required.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
