Position Number: 2070JB
Description:
A warm, engaged Upper West Side family is seeking a long-term nanny to support their home and three children. They are looking for a professional who enjoys becoming part of a family's support system while balancing attentive childcare with child-related household support. This is a true nanny/family assistant position with 50 guaranteed hours per week and additional paid hours during the school year.
Start Date:
- ASAP, with the ideal candidate available to begin before the start of the new school year.
The Schedule:
- School Year: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-6:00 PM (55 hours per week)
- School Holidays & School Closures: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM (50 hours per week)
- 50 hours guaranteed each week with additional paid hours during school time.
The Child(ren):
Three wonderful children:
- Boy, 3.5 years old
- Girl, 5.5 years old
- Boy, 8 years old
- All three children are bright, active, and fun to be around. Like most of us, they love being given choices and autonomy so a nanny who can be supportive, calm, and incorporate elements of independence into their days is desired. Likewise, they all appreciate being helpful members of the family unit, so devising appropriate ways to teach and encourage chores is welcomed.
- The oldest child has anxiety, so experience with a child with anxiety is preferred. With extra patience, calm words, and providing choice, he thrives.
- The family is driven by values rather than tasks so it's hoped that a great nanny will help foster these behaviors and bring joy and fun to even the most routine day.
The Family:
- A warm, engaged Upper West Side family is seeking a long-term nanny to support their home and three children.
- Both parents are highly involved and value partnership, communication, and teamwork.
- One parent works from home two days/week, so the family is looking for a professional who understands how to seamlessly support the household while respecting working parents' schedules.
- They are seeking someone with a positive, can-do attitude who genuinely enjoys becoming part of a family's support system.
- No regular travel is currently required, though openness to occasional travel is a plus.
The Role:
- This is a true nanny/family assistant position combining attentive childcare with child-related household support.
- Morning routines and school preparation.
- School drop-offs. The oldest two get picked up by bus around the block at 7:40 AM and return home at 4:00 PM. The youngest goes to school around the corner from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM.

- Kitchen tidying and household reset.
- Supporting evening routines and maintaining a calm household flow.
- During school term time, there will be dedicated time for child-related household tasks and meal preparation before the children need picking up from the bus stop.
You:
- Warm, nurturing, and emotionally intelligent.
- Experienced caring for multiple children.
- Patient and confident.
- Proactive, organized, and self-motivated.
- A strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with hands-on parents.
