As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities, helping them build important life skills, increase independence, and actively participate in their community. Your work will make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve every day.
PRN/On-Call Position
PRN (as-needed) employees do not have a permanent work schedule and are utilized to assist with vacation coverage, staffing shortages, and employee call-ins based on availability. PRN staff have the opportunity to train in multiple homes within their area, allowing for additional hours and valuable experience. They also receive first consideration for permanent positions as they become available.
A typical day for a DSP might involve:
- Provide personalized, compassionate support to individuals with mental health challenges and disabilities.
- Assist with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and client progress.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for all clients
