Commercial Service Plumbing Manager
Position Summary
A well-established and growing plumbing and HVAC contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Service Plumbing Manager to lead the daily operations of its Plumbing Service Division. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing commercial and residential service operations while driving technician performance, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Service Plumbing Manager will lead a team of approximately 8–15 service technicians and work collaboratively with dispatch, estimating, operations, warehouse, and administrative personnel to ensure exceptional service delivery. This position is ideal for a leader who has progressed through the plumbing trade, possesses strong commercial service experience, and understands how to build a high-performing service team through leadership, accountability, coaching, and data-driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Managment
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Plumbing Service Department.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 8–15 Plumbing Service Technicians.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, technician evaluations, and performance reviews.
- Lead hiring efforts, candidate interviews, onboarding, and employee development.
- Coach technicians through ride-alongs, field observations, and ongoing performance feedback.
- Identify training opportunities to improve technical skills, customer service, safety, and productivity.
Service Operations
- Manage daily scheduling and technician workload to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with dispatch and internal departments to ensure timely response to service requests.
- Monitor service capacity, technician utilization, and overall department performance.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Ensure service work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
Financial & Business Performance
- Maintain accountability for departmental profitability and operational performance.
- Monitor and manage departmental budgets, labor productivity, and operating costs.
- Review pricing strategies and ensure consistency across service operations.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Utilize ServiceTitan reporting to monitor technician productivity, revenue, conversion rates, and department performance.
Operations & Resource Management
- Oversee company service vehicles and fleet utilization.
- Coordinate inventory, materials, equipment, and tool availability to support field operations.
- Work with warehouse personnel to ensure technicians are properly stocked and equipped.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and reporting.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices.
- Ensure technicians maintain compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing both commercial and residential plumbing service operations.
- Experience implementing process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Strong understanding of service KPIs, technician productivity metrics, and revenue management.
- Proven ability to build and maintain a positive, high-performance team culture.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform work in both office and field environments.
- Ability to visit jobsites, warehouses, and customer locations as needed.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and navigate active construction and service environments.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for occasional travel to jobsites and customer locations.
Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based with regular visits to jobsites and field locations. Standard working hours are generally Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, although additional hours may be required based on operational needs, emergency service demands, or business priorities.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
