Development Associate — Part-Time, Remote
Project501 is a small, growing boutique consulting firm that provides grant development and management services to nonprofit and public-sector clients. Our clients include food banks, youth development organizations, community-based nonprofits, and government agencies.
We are seeking an organized, adaptable, and technology-oriented Development Associate to support grant work across several client accounts. This is an opportunity to learn directly from an experienced development professional while gaining hands-on knowledge of the nonprofit and consulting sectors.
Position Details
- Approximately 20 hours per week
- $25-28 per hour
- Fully remote
- Flexible early-morning or evening hours
- Video meetings as needed
- Reports directly to the head of the consulting firm
This position offers strong potential for additional hours, increased responsibility, and a higher rate of pay based on performance and firm growth.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and refine letters of inquiry, grant applications, and supporting documents.
- Support foundation, corporate, and state and local government grant applications.
- Maintain Excel tracking sheets, Instrumentl CRM records, grant calendars, and client files.
- Create accounts in grant portals, upload materials, and submit applications on behalf of clients.
- Review requirements and ensure applications are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Respond to client questions and complete assignments from firm management.
- Use artificial intelligence tools to support grant writing, research, data management, and administrative work.
- Manage multiple client projects and adjust quickly to changing deadlines and priorities.
Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, research, and proofreading skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
- Comfort learning software, CRM systems, online portals, and new technology.
- Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with clients.
- Flexible, responsive, and able to manage multiple assignments efficiently.
- Grant writing, grant management, nonprofit development, or related experience is preferred.
- A few years of grants-management experience is a plus but not required.
- Recent college graduates with strong writing, research, organizational, and technology skills are encouraged to apply.
