Duties
- Implement behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to support clients’ developmental goals
- Collect and record data on client behaviors, progress, and responses accurately and consistently to inform treatment adjustments
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting, promoting independence
- Support teaching strategies designed to improve communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors in children and individuals with autism
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding client confidentiality and handling medical records responsibly
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to develop and update individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Foster a positive, patient-centered environment that encourages growth, learning, and behavioral health stability
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques and principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Ability to assist with ADLs and implement teaching strategies effectively
- Excellent data collection skills for tracking client progress and behavior patterns
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and maintaining accurate medical records
- Effective communication skills for working collaboratively with families, caregivers, and team members
