Duties
- Safely operate various vehicles including commercial trucks to deliver products to retail stores and clients.
- Follow established routes diligently, adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise using safe lifting practices, often involving heavy lifting or merchandising tasks.
- Communicate effectively with clients upon delivery, building rapport and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Manage delivery count accurately and professionally.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, route driving, or heavy vehicle operation with a focus on safety compliance.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, automobile transportation laws, and safe lifting practices.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
- Customer relationship building skills to foster trust and repeat business with clients.
- Organizational skills to manage schedules efficiently, handle multiple deliveries, and maintain accurate records.
