Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Pump Truck Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties
- Operate pump trucks to load and unload freight with precision, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Manage the transportation of refrigerated trailers, tanker loads, flatbed cargo, and hazardous materials in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Navigate complex routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Load and secure freight properly using manual handling techniques to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo before and after trips to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, load & unload activities, and route logs for operational transparency.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize delivery routes and improve overall efficiency while ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across diverse terrains.
- Strong knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures for freight including hazardous goods, dangerous materials, tanker loads, flatbed cargo, and refrigerated trailers.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks confidently while following FMCSA regulations.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) for safe transport of dangerous goods.
- Skilled in manual handling techniques for safe load & unload operations.
- Excellent driving record with experience in tractor-trailer operation under DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
