Busy and fun Brewpub looking to hire another host /shift lead to join our restaurant family! Full time position, nights, weekends, and holidays are required; day shifts are included; this is a variable schedule. Responsibilities as the Shift Lead:
- Opening and closing the restaurant
- Ability to thrive in a busy and fast paced environment, keeping guest interactions positive and morale of waitstaff up
- Deescalate angry customers, make judgment calls on when to apply discounts and/or comp food
- Ability to make judgement calls on when to cut waitstaff and support staff during slow periods to keep labor costs low
- Coordinate between the front of the house and back of the house
Responsibilities as Host:
- Answering phones and taking to go orders
- Manage cash drawer
- Maintain a clean front desk
- Keep menus clean and organized
- Will need to be able to rearrange tables in the restaurant and critical thinking skills used when making table arrangements
- Manage a waitlist and the ability to project your voice when calling for customers
- Answer basic questions about the menu and the beer offered in restaurant
- Positive engagement with customers, greeting them when they walk through the door and maintaining a friendly and welcome attitude
Toast experience preferred, but not required. Management experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
