POSITION OVERVIEW
We're hiring engaging, knowledgeable, and reliable tutors to work with students at partner schools across New York City. Tutors are assigned to one or more schools and provide instruction based on each school's needs, ranging across K-12 English, Math, Science, History, and other subjects as required. You'll personalize your approach to each student while upholding Next Level Education's standard of professionalism and student-centered support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide tutoring to students at one or more assigned schools across New York City
- Deliver instruction scoped to each school's needs, spanning K–12th grade English, Math, Science, History, and additional subjects as needed
- Personalize instruction based on each student's goals, strengths, and learning style
- Track student progress and communicate updates with school staff and the NLE administrative team
- Maintain consistent scheduling and provide timely responses to schools, families, and staff
- Uphold the company's standard of professionalism, organization, and student-centered support
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress)
- A background in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring middle and high school students
- Proficiency in multiple academic subjects across the 6th-12th grade range (English, Math, Science, or History)
- Ability to adapt across subjects and grade levels as school assignments vary
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, organized, and committed to student success
- Ability to complete any background checks required for placement in schools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience tutoring or teaching in a school setting
- Background in education, psychology, or a related field
- Familiarity with the New York City school landscape
WHAT WE OFFER
