Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Cost Accounting Clerk to oversee the daily accounts payable function and support the accounting team. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and assisting with process improvements and internal controls. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable function and assist in coordinating workflow priorities.
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
- Verify invoice approvals and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor inquiries.
- Reconcile vendor statements and ensure outstanding items are resolved promptly.
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9s, payment terms, and banking information.
- Process new vendor setups and maintain vendor documentation.
- Prepare accounts payable reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and increase efficiency.
- Train, mentor, and support Accounts Payable team members.
- Cross-train with other accounting functions as needed.
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Accounts Payable experience.
- Previous lead or supervisory desired.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP or accounting software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Positive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork and customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing, agricultural, or distribution accounting experience.
- Prior Cost Accounting experience
- Knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements.
- Experience with continuous process improvement and internal controls.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
