DMC has an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated Entry-Level Project Engineer with preferred 1+ years of experience on construction projects.
This position will be focused on work in the Metro Detroit area.
Overview:
The selected Project Engineer will be responsible to assist in oversight of major aspects of construction projects. They will have a dynamic role in understanding how to build quality projects on time and within budget. They will learn from our experienced team all aspects of the construction process: preconstruction, subcontractor buyout, design coordination, subcontractor management, quality control/safety, logistics planning, and more. Although a demanding role, we are looking for an individual who is willing to learn and provide their insights/talents in helping our company grow.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist project team with daily project coordination (incl. procurement, quality control, & vendor management)
- Lead Document Control efforts on projects (RFIs, Submittals, Change Orders, etc)
- Assist in cost estimation for labor, supplies, materials, and other project costs
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and other vendors to determine budget and timeline
- Enforce quality control program and manage quality expectations with subcontractors
- Assist field team with onsite coordination
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical training
- 2+ years of construction experience is preferred but not required
Other Skills/Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with project team and Owner/Architect
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work under pressure and while meeting rigorous time requirements
- Possess strong attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, and P6 is preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
