Job Summary
We are seeking a CDL Class A Professional to join our logistics team as Terminal Yard Operator. This role are critical to maintaining the flow of our distribution center, with dedicated opportunities available for a PM shift. Operators will be responsible for the movement of equipment, overview of yard activities & help with internal wearhouse activities to help ensure a seamless warehouse operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Trailer Maneuvering: Operate a terminal tractor (yard mule) to move trailers to and from loading docks, as well as staging areas at the distribution center.
- Equipment Inspection: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of yard tractors and trailers, reporting any mechanical issues or damage to management.
- Communication: Coordinate closely with warehouse dispatchers, dock leads, and admins to prioritize moves and prevent bottlenecks.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a strict "Safety First" mindset, adhering to all OSHA and DOT regulations.
- Precision Driving: Expertly back 53’ trailers into tight dock spaces with zero incidents, and maintain a safe and efficient environment.
Terminal: Jackson, MS
Monday - Friday. 2nd shift: 1 PM - 9 PM
Starting Pay: $21
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL License
- Clean driving record
- Previous industry experience
- 2 years of driving history
- Ability to pass a drug screen & background check
