Role Description Consolidated Mills, Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our food manufacturing facility. This role will provide leadership and coordination across Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, Sanitation, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and other support functions to ensure the plant operates safely, efficiently, consistently, and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
The Plant Manager will serve as the primary operational link between departments, establish accountability across the plant, and ensure that production, staffing, sanitation, maintenance, facility conditions, and corrective actions are effectively managed and followed through.
This position will work closely with the Director of Quality Assurance and executive management to support food safety, regulatory compliance, third-party audit readiness, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of progressive food or beverage manufacturing experience, including significant supervisory or management responsibility.
· Demonstrated experience managing day-to-day manufacturing operations and production personnel.
· Experience participating in third-party food safety or manufacturing audits.
· Strong working knowledge of GMPs, food safety practices, sanitation, manufacturing documentation, and FDA-regulated food manufacturing.
· Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Proven ability to hold supervisors and employees accountable and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Comfortable working directly on the production floor.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic manufacturing reporting systems.
Preferred
· Experience in an SQF, BRCGS, FSSC 22000, or other GFSI-certified facility.
· HACCP, GMP, or food safety training.
· Experience with acidified/high-acid foods, hot-fill processing, beverages, sauces, dry ingredient or spice blending, packaging, or repackaging.
· Experience with sanitation, pest control, preventive maintenance, CAPA/root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
· Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Food Science, Business, or a related field; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.
