Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Professional In-home Caregiver to join our team in Tacoma, WA. This vital role involves providing exceptional home healthcare assistance to clients of all ages, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized memory or hospice care. As a caregiver, you will deliver personalized support that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient observations including vital signs, medication administration, and overall health status while maintaining accurate medical documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments through memory care techniques and compassionate engagement
- Support clients with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound management, and end-of-life care in compliance with home healthcare regulations and HIPAA standards for patient confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards
- Communicate effectively with clients’ families and healthcare teams to coordinate care plans and update on patient progress
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a home health aide or caregiver in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare settings
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR certification
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized attention such as heavy lifting or use of patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Strong understanding of home health care regulations, HIPAA compliance, and patient confidentiality standards
- Excellent patient observation skills coupled with compassionate communication tailored to geriatric patients or those with cognitive impairments
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, transferring patients safely, and performing light housekeeping duties as needed
