American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience performing adult echocardiography in an acute care hospital setting.

Acute care hospital setting in an Echocardiography unit
-
Performs complete cardiac echo studies on adult patients
-
Pediatric scanning ability is a plus but not required
-
Uses ultrasound imaging systems, physiologic Doppler systems, EKG acquisition machines, Holter monitors, and stress testing equipment

Charting is performed in Cerner
-
8-hour day shifts with a variable schedule
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac sonography
-
Current BLS (AHA) certification required
-
RDCS-AE (ARDMS) or equivalent CCI cardiac credential required
-
Registered in Adult Vascular and Echo by ARDMS or CCI
-
Graduate of an approved Allied Health program with additional training in ultrasound procedures
-
Knowledge of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, and cardiac/vascular anatomy required

Must be able to perform portable studies, including pushing ultrasound equipment and holding transducers in physically demanding positions

License required if applicable

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for cardiac and vascular disorders under physician orders

Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to develop and support patient care plans
-
Provides patient and family education regarding Cardiopulmonary Department procedures
-
Must be able to work with diverse patient populations, including those with cultural differences, pain management needs, or complex diagnoses

Reports to the Leader of Cardiopulmonary

Knowledge of IAC accreditation is preferred
