Compliance and Risk Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Claims and Litigation Manager to join their team.
The Claims and Litigation Manager u nder the general direction of the Director of Claim Services, manages the University’s claims to achieve optimal outcomes for the University and its clients, balancing indemnity paid and expense incurred. The Claims and Litigation Manager accomplishes his/her mission by regularly sharing pertinent claims information in a meaningful, constructive way to avoid, reduce, and mitigate risk. The Claims and Litigation Manager will manage a variety of claims, including, but not limited to: medical professional liability, employment practices liability, auto liability, general liability, and property claims. Additionally, the Claims and Litigation Manager may work in collaboration with the University's third party administrators and other consultants in the management of claims
Managing claims and lawsuits (80%)
Work collaboratively on liability claims handled by the University’s third party claims administrator (10%)
Work with third party administrator(s) on collaboration and meetings with UW stakeholders and indemnitees, investigation techniques, settlement evaluations, negotiations, and UW-specific matters
Reporting and Communicating on Claims and Claim Trends (7%)
Communicate with the Attorney General’s Office, Human Resources, Special Assistant Attorneys General, University schools, colleges and divisions, and consulting professionals
Fulfills claims-related safety and regulatory responsibilities and special projects as assigned (3%)
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, to include five years of experience with claims and litigation management, which may include: medical professional, general, auto, property, employment practices and/or other claims

Pay Range Minimum:
$108,000.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$153,000.00 annual
