Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision machining excellence! In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality components. Duties
- Operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to produce precise parts.
- Program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and adjust programs as needed for quality control.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and tooling offsets accurately using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machinery, including electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment, to ensure continuous operation.
- Perform quality inspections utilizing coordinate measuring machines (CMM), dial indicators, and other precision tools to verify dimensions.
- Support manufacturing processes involving plastics injection molding, welding, assembly, and the use of hand tools or power tools when necessary.
Skills
- Proven experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawing interpretation.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), CAM programming software, SolidWorks or CAD for design review and modifications.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems; ability to troubleshoot machine issues effectively.
- Ability to read basic math calculations essential for setting up machining operations accurately.
- Experience working within lean manufacturing environments; knowledge of plastics injection molding processes is a plus.
- Capable of operating forklifts safely; comfortable using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and supporting assembly tasks. Pay: $27.74 - $33.41 per hour
