About the Role
Genesis Interior Design is looking for an experienced Interior Design Drafter to join our team in San Diego.
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, produce accurate and professional-quality drawings with minimal supervision, and work closely with our interior design team throughout project development.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in interior design drafting and construction documentation, excellent attention to detail, and advanced AutoCAD skills.
This is an on-site, full-time position with a flexible Monday–Friday schedule.
Responsibilities
- Create and revise floor plans, elevations, sections, details, RCPs, and millwork drawings.
- Produce accurate construction and interior design documentation.
- Translate design concepts into technically accurate drawings.
- Maintain dimensions, annotations, layers, and drafting standards.
- Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Incorporate feedback and revisions efficiently.
- Coordinate drawings and documentation with the interior design team.
- Manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Work independently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional drafting experience.
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency — required.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and drafting standards.
- Experience with interior design documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work on-site in San Diego, California.
- Availability to start September 1, 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
- Revit experience.
- SketchUp or other 3D modeling experience.
- Millwork drawing experience.
- Experience with Bluebeam.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Creative Suite.

Hiring Process
We are looking for candidates who are able to move through the hiring process efficiently.
Stage 1 — Resume & Portfolio Review
We will review your resume and portfolio to evaluate your experience and technical background.
Stage 2 — Initial Interview
Qualified candidates will be invited to an initial interview.
Stage 3 — Personality / DISC Profile
Candidates selected to continue may be asked to complete a personality assessment as part of the selection process.
Stage 4 — Technical Assessment
Selected candidates will receive a PDF drafting assignment and have 24 hours to complete it. Candidates may ask questions during the assessment period.
Stage 5 — Final Interview / Onboarding Discussion
The final meeting will cover the position, responsibilities, compensation, schedule, employment terms, expectations, and onboarding.
Target start date: September 1, 2026.
