The Vice President of Compliance is responsible for the oversight, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Cantex Compliance Program across all divisions. This role partners with executive and operational leadership to ensure alignment with Company policies and procedures, including the Health Plan, Code of Conduct, Quality Hotline, monitoring, auditing, trending, tracking, and reporting activities.
The VP of Compliance supports adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and guidance from agencies such as OIG, DOJ, CMS, and HHSC. This position serves as a strategic and operational leader who promotes a culture of compliance, ethics, and accountability while driving consistency and effectiveness across the organization.
Experience with compliance and ethics programs, education and training, organizational culture, communications, documentation retention, policies and procedures, and enterprise risk assessment
Bachelor’s degree required; Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred
Minimum five (5) years’ progressive experience in healthcare compliance or operations, preferably in a multi-site healthcare organization
Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience, preferably in a long-term care or post-acute setting
Demonstrated experience supporting or managing a Compliance Program in a regulated healthcare environment (I-SNP experience preferred but not required)
Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations related to nursing home operations and healthcare services
Ability to influence, partner with, and advise senior leadership
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Oversee and enhance compliance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with applicable federal and state laws and regulatory requirements
Partner with executive and operational leadership to ensure compliance initiatives are effectively integrated into daily operations
Promote a culture of ethics and compliance through consistent messaging, leadership engagement, and training initiatives
Evaluate the effectiveness of the Compliance Program on an ongoing basis and recommend improvements
Oversee the intake, tracking, and resolution of Compliance and Quality Hotline concerns in collaboration with leadership and HR
Support a reporting environment where employees can raise concerns without fear of retaliation, including maintaining anonymous reporting mechanisms
Identify compliance and operational risks, including in clinical settings, and partner with leadership to implement mitigation strategies
Lead development and delivery of compliance education and training across the organization
Participate in and present to compliance committees, executive leadership, and governing bodies as needed
Oversee the timely investigation and resolution of alleged violations of laws, regulations, Code of Conduct, and Company policies
Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and resolution of compliance matters while maintaining confidentiality standards
Monitor regulatory updates (CMS, OIG, federal/state agencies) and communicate required changes to appropriate stakeholders
Maintain and update key compliance documents, including the Compliance Plan, Code of Conduct, and supporting policies
Coordinate or oversee audits in identified high-risk or high-exposure areas and share results with leadership
Monitor key compliance indicators such as documentation accuracy, error rates, denial trends, and adherence to CMS and applicable regulatory standards
