Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating diverse learning styles and educational technology tools.
- Deliver engaging instruction in English language arts, including literature analysis, creative writing, grammar, and vocabulary development.
- Develop assessments to measure student progress, prepare students for standardized testing, and provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Integrate IT-enabled lessons using digital platforms, multimedia resources, and online collaboration tools to enhance learning experiences.
- Mentor and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and classroom management techniques.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and academic achievements through conferences and digital updates.
- Manage classroom environment effectively to promote positive behavior, inclusivity, and active participation among students.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English Education, Literature, Linguistics or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
- Proven experience teaching English language arts at the high school or middle school level with teenagers.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development standards such as AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and educational compliance regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in literacy education, instructional design, standardized testing preparation, and educational technology integration.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Experience working with special education students or implementing inclusive classroom practices is a plus.
- Skilled in classroom management, behavior moderation, and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
