Position Title: UM Licensed Vocational Nurse
Location: Montebello, CA
Schedule: Full Time / 9am-6pm Monday through Friday
Pay: $33 - $43/hour - Depending on Experience
Job Type: 13 week assignment with opportunity to extend
Job Summary:
The LVN Supervisor, Utilization Management - Clinical position is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the
Utilization Management Department, health plan delegated activities, and medical management initiatives. This position works closely with
the Manager, Director, Medical Director, and VP to evaluate and monitor medical appropriateness determinations and care coordination
activities. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans that will directly impact cost containment and improve
patient outcomes.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Uses computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to perform necessary functions.
- Communicates effectively in writing for the needs of the audience.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.
- Maintains dedicated attention to detail.
- Analyzes and interprets reports and data for management purposes.
- Works collaboratively with all levels of management, in particular medical management and network management.
- Demonstrate knowledge of DOFRs and delegation agreements
- Adheres to the AltaMed Health Services HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
Knowledge of pre-authorizations and reimbursement regulations on Medicare, Medi-Cal, Commercial, CCS, and other
government programs
Specifications / Experience:
- Graduated from an accredited LVN school with a current LVN license issued by the State of California, Vocational Nursing.
RN, preferred
- AA degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a managed care environment is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience preferred (lead or supervisor)
- A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the
American Red Cross guidelines.
