Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support veterinary professionals in delivering high-quality care to a diverse range of animals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in animal handling, veterinary procedures, and clinic operations, contributing to a positive environment for both pets and staff.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection.
- Provide compassionate pet care and support pet owners with basic pet handling advice.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of the clinic environment using aseptic techniques.
- Support laboratory testing procedures by preparing samples and managing laboratory equipment.
- Handle animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, and monitoring health status.
- Restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments, ensuring minimal stress for the animals.
- Manage front desk responsibilities including appointment scheduling, client communication, and record keeping.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and basic medical procedures.
- Experience with kennel management, animal restraint, medication administration, and laboratory techniques.
- Familiarity with pet care practices including dog handling and animal catheterization is advantageous.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to work effectively with various species including equine experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a professional attitude and attention to detail.

Pay: $19.00 - $30.00 per hour
