THE ROLE
Win is seeking a dependable problem solver and hands-on Maintenance Worker to support the upkeep, safety, and appearance of our shelter facilities. This role is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and cleaning activities to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections throughout the facility and grounds.
- Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming indoor and outdoor spaces, including snow and ice removal.
- Repair furniture, appliances, equipment, doors, locks, and other building components.
- Complete minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and sheetrock repairs.
- Conduct unit inspections and perform preventative maintenance activities.
- Inspect, maintain, and replace smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as needed.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance of heating and air conditioning units.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and complete additional duties as assigned.
WHO YOU WILL BE
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience performing building maintenance, repairs, custodial services, or related work preferred.
- Ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry repairs.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs throughout the workday.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to work safely with cleaning products, maintenance materials, and other hazardous substances while using proper protective equipment.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions.
