Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to provide therapeutic services to patients in the clinic setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and a passion for helping individuals improve their daily living skills.
Duties
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans as directed by the occupational therapist.
- Provide direct patient care and support in activities of daily living (ADLs) to enhance patient independence.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify care plans based on patient needs.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment goals and techniques.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology to assess patient capabilities and limitations effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy.
Qualifications
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and its application in therapy settings.
- Experience or familiarity with pediatric care is preferred.
- Ability to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
