Job Description:
HDD Paving and Excavation is looking for an experienced paving or asphalt professional to join our team as a Part-Time Paving Estimator. This is a flexible, per-job position ideal for a retired or semi-retired paving or construction professional who wants supplemental income without the physical labor.
This position involves visiting residential job sites across Massachusetts, measuring driveways, assessing paving conditions, and submitting estimate information through a simple digital system.
This is NOT a labor position. No physical paving work is required.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to residential job sites throughout Massachusetts
- Measure driveways and calculate approximate square footage
- Assess existing pavement conditions and identify excavation, gravel, drainage, or fill needs
- Record a short 2–3 minute video walkthrough explaining site conditions
- Complete and submit a simple digital form the same day
- Communicate professionally with homeowners on-site
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of paving, asphalt, or construction experience
- Strong knowledge of residential driveway paving and site assessment
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Smartphone capable of recording and uploading videos/photos
- Ability to work independently and manage flexible scheduling
- Professional and friendly communication skills
