Build Sophisticated Tax Strategies for Some of the Nation's Most Complex Clients
Are you an experienced tax attorney who thrives on solving sophisticated planning challenges for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and closely held businesses?
Our growing Advanced Tax Strategies practice is seeking an exceptional attorney to design and implement sophisticated wealth preservation, estate planning, business succession, and tax minimization strategies for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. This is an opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of attorneys, CPAs, fiduciaries, and financial professionals while advising clients with complex asset structures and multi-generational wealth.

Total Compensation (Base Salary, plus potential incentive compensation)
$166,000 - $293,000
What You'll Do
Advanced Estate & Tax Planning
- Design and implement sophisticated estate and wealth transfer strategies.
- Structure and draft:
- Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRATs)
- Intentionally Defective Grantor Trusts (IDGTs)
- Dynasty Trusts
- Family Limited Partnerships (FLPs)
- Family LLCs
- Develop tax-efficient succession plans for closely held businesses and family enterprises.
- Advise clients on estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer (GST), and income tax planning.
Family Office & Business Advisory
- Serve as a trusted advisor to ultra-high-net-worth families and family offices.
- Counsel clients regarding:
- Business succession planning
- Private equity investments
- Venture capital holdings
- Investment structures
- Complex partnership and pass-through taxation
- Coordinate with accountants, wealth advisors, and investment professionals on integrated planning strategies.
Charitable & Philanthropic Planning
- Structure and maintain:
- Private Foundations
- Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
- Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs)
- Charitable Lead Trusts (CLTs)
- Provide ongoing governance and compliance guidance for charitable entities.
Technical Tax Leadership
- Prepare complex legal memoranda and tax opinions.
- Review sophisticated fiduciary, partnership, estate, and gift tax matters.
- Support IRS examinations involving advanced tax planning strategies.
- Stay current on legislative and regulatory developments impacting estate and tax planning.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active Colorado Bar license
- Significant experience in advanced estate planning and tax planning.
- Strong understanding of:
- Estate and gift taxation
- Generation-skipping transfer tax
- Trust and estate planning
- Partnership taxation
- Business succession planning
- Experience advising high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth clients preferred.
- Exceptional drafting, analytical, and client communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters with accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

- Business succession planning
