Worship Leader (Part-Time)Purpose
Lead the congregation in worship during Sunday services and provide leadership for the church’s worship ministry in partnership with the Lead Pastor.
Spiritual & Personal Expectations
The Worship Leader is encouraged to:
- Pursue a growing relationship with Jesus.
- Be actively involved in the life of the church.
- Continue growing spiritually, musically, and as a leader.
- Lead from personal spiritual health rather than performance.
- Participate in leadership development opportunities when available.
Primary ResponsibilitiesWorship Leadership
- Lead worship during weekly services and special events.
- Select biblically faithful songs that align with the church’s theology and vision.
- Foster meaningful congregational worship.
Service Planning
- Work with the Lead Pastor to plan worship services that support the teaching.
- Incorporate music, Scripture, media, and other creative elements into services.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage worship and production volunteers.
- Lead rehearsals with preparation and clarity.
- Build a healthy, team-oriented ministry culture.
- Develop future worship and production leaders.
Ministry Oversight
- Oversee worship-related production, including audio, presentation, lighting, and service flow.
- Maintain worship planning software, scheduling, and team communication.
- Assist with the worship ministry budget as needed.
Church Leadership
- Provide spiritual encouragement to worship and production teams.
- Coordinate the communion team with lead pastor.
- Participate in church-wide ministry initiatives and events as available.
Qualifications
- Growing relationship with Jesus and a heart for the local church.
- Ability to lead and develop volunteer teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Solid theological understanding of worship.
- Adaptable, dependable, and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Musically gifted with the ability to lead congregational worship vocally.
