Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and arts.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with disabilities or special educational requirements.
- Utilize learning technology and instructional design tools to enhance classroom engagement and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management techniques, fostering a safe and inclusive space for all children.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods, provide feedback, and adjust instruction accordingly to support student progress.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitor student development.
- Incorporate behavioral therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, or applied behavior analysis techniques as needed to support behavioral health and learning outcomes.
- Mentor students in academic advising and provide additional tutoring or remedial support to ensure mastery of core concepts.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, deaf education, visually impaired education, Montessori methods, or early intervention strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; advanced certifications or specialized training in special education or early childhood development preferred.
- Proven classroom experience working with children of various ages, including preschool or toddler care settings.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design principles.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities such as autism or developmental disabilities; familiarity with IEP processes essential.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and support staff.
- Proficiency in learning technology tools and educational software applications.
- Knowledge of behavioral management techniques and behavioral health strategies.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners including those who are visually impaired or require speech therapy services.
- Demonstrated commitment to child welfare, classroom management excellence, and creating an inclusive learning environment.
