The Big E — The Eastern States Exposition — is one of the largest fairs in the country, welcoming more than 1.5 million attendees over 17 days. Vermont Teddy Bear is looking for enthusiastic, dependable Seasonal Retail Associates to help us create memorable experiences for fairgoers and introduce customers to our collection of cuddly, giftable Vermont Teddy Bear products.
This is a seasonal, part-time position based at our Vermont Teddy Bear location on the Big E fairgrounds. The role includes helping prepare and set up the space before the fair, working throughout the 17-day event, and helping pack up the space after the fair.
Pay: $20 per hour
Weekday and weekend shifts are available, including morning, mid-day, and evening shifts. Weekly hours will be based on your availability and can range from approximately 4–36 hours per week.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome customers with warm, friendly, and enthusiastic service
- Help customers discover the perfect Vermont Teddy Bear for themselves, a friend, family member, or someone special
- Learn about our products and share their stories and unique qualities with customers
- Help customers select gifts for birthdays, holidays, special occasions, and everyday celebrations
- Create fun, positive, and memorable shopping experiences
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting retail space
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Assist with merchandising, restocking, and organizing inventory
- Keep products attractively displayed and the sales floor looking its best
- Help with setup and merchandising of the Vermont Teddy Bear space before the fair
- Help with packing, organizing, and breaking down the space after the fair
- Work collaboratively with teammates in a busy, energetic fair environment
- Jump in wherever needed to support customers and the team

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move throughout the retail space for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a busy fairground environment, including variable weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise and supplies up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform general retail and merchandising duties
- Ability to assist with setup and breakdown of the Vermont Teddy Bear space
