Full-Time Seamster / Industrial Sewer Wanted – Custom Upholstery Shop (Wheeling, IL)
Albo Restoration, a custom upholstery shop specializing in cars, boats, airplanes, & furniture upholstery in Wheeling, is seeking a skilled and experienced Full-Time Seamster / Industrial Sewer to join our team.
If you have a sharp eye for detail, experience working with heavy fabrics, and a passion for quality craftsmanship, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial sewing machines to sew heavy-duty fabrics, leathers, and vinyls for cars, boats, airplanes, and furniture upholstery.
- Pattern, cut, and match fabrics accurately
- Work closely with our upholstery team to ensure precise fit and finish on all pieces.
- Inspect finished products to maintain our high standards of quality and restoration excellence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a seamster, tailor, or industrial sewer (upholstery experience is a major plus).
- Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and walking-foot machines.
- Ability to work with thick, heavy materials and multi-layered fabrics.
- High attention to detail, precision, and efficiency.
- Reliable, local, and able to commute to our shop in Wheeling.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Full-Time
- Pay: $18-23 / hour (Depending on experience)
- Location: Wheeling, IL
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (Day shift). Saturday shifts available too.
