Position Summary
Piedmont Park Conservancy Operations is seeking an experienced, visionary, and results-driven Manager of Park Operations to lead the daily operations, landscape maintenance, and stewardship of Atlanta's premier urban park. Welcoming more than 6 million visitors annually, Piedmont Park serves as a destination for recreation, community engagement, festivals, concerts, and private events. This leadership position oversees operational staff, landscape and periodic facility maintenance, safety security response, asset management, and performance measurement initiatives. The ideal candidate will help elevate operations from good to great through innovation, accountability, leadership, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
· Direct and oversee daily park operations and landscape activities.
· Manage landscape design and maintenance throughout the Park with focus on park entries
· Lead, mentor, train, and develop an operations staff of 7 or more.
· Manage recruiting, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and personnel matters.
· Oversee and provide quality control for landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, turf management, planting beds, and grounds upkeep.
· Assist basic tree management activities and contractor support as needed with the operations team Assistant Manager
· Manage periodic building maintenance, Park infrastructure, and operational assets.
· Oversee maintenance of landscape equipment, vehicles, tools, and irrigation systems through a combination of in-house skills and third-party vendors.
· Respond to, document, and report on park safety and security incidents.
· Track operational KPIs through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
· Support Assistant Manager (AM) with CMMS and GIS implementation and utilization.
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including support for festivals, concerts, and special events in pré and post event set up audits.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in landscape management, grounds maintenance, horticulture, facilities management, or related field.
· Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
· Comprehensive knowledge of landscape maintenance functions.
· Working knowledge of irrigation systems and water management.
· Basic knowledge of tree care and urban forestry principles.
· General repair and maintenance knowledge of lawn equipment
· Experience with turf and grass management.
· Basic knowledge of building systems, maintenance equipment, and operational assets.
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
· Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform occasional hands-on physical work.
· Valid Driver's License
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday thru Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm including an hour lunch break and occasional weekend and evening shifts as needed
Pay: From $62,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
