Ved Sassomeccanica (India)Pvt.Ltd. is a Kanpur based Engineering Industry engaged in manufacturing of prestigious rolling stocks of Indian Railways. Company is manufacturing & supplying Bogie Frames and Fully Assembled Bogie for the manufacturing units such as Integral Coach Factory Chennai, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala; Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli; Banaras Locomotive Works Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Chittaranjan of Indian Railway as well as multinational companies such as M/s Siemens, M/s Medha & M/s TRSL, Kolkata.
Company is manufacturing large structures requiring accurate fabrications including Radiographic welding, NDT Testing & Precision CNC machining in large CMM machine. The company is equipped the State - of - the - Art manufacturing facilities for Bogie Frames for the Coaches of Vande Bharat Express, Rajdhani Express & Bogie Frames for the locomotives of Rajdhani / Shatabdi Express.
Our Company is certified with EN 15085-2, CL-1 (An International Welding Standards); IRIS /IS/TS 22163 (An International Railway Industry Standards); Qualified Welder as per ISO 9606-1; Qualified Welding Co-ordinators by IISCERT, Italy. RWC – IWE (Internation Welding Engineer) as per EN ISO 14731; Certified WPS and WPQR as per EN 15609-1/15614-1.

Experience- Minimum 5 Yrs as a Purchase Head is an engineering industries.
Location- Kanpur Nagar,Uttar Pradesh
Qualification- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical
Salary Range- 60-70 k CTC pm (Salary is negotiable based on merits for the right candidate)
Key Responsibilities
*Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Source bulk steel (plates, structural sections, tubes), welding consumables, and mechanical bought-out components at competitive prices.
*Vendor Development: Identify, evaluate, and audit domestic and international suppliers to ensure they meet quality and delivery standards.
*Inventory & Material Planning: Coordinate with the planning and production teams to forecast material requirements, ensuring uninterrupted operations while minimizing excess stock.
*Cost Optimization & Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve budgetary targets and annual cost-saving initiatives.
*Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to ensure raw materials align with fabrication specifications and vendor invoices are processed correctly.
*Documentation & Compliance: Manage purchase orders, import/export documentation, and logistics in computer systems while complying with company and statutory policies.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
*Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
*Experience: Minimum 10 to 15+ years of procurement experience in heavy fabrication, steel plants, or capital equipment manufacturing.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of various steel grades, fabrication processes (welding, cutting, machining), and manufacturing drawings.
Computer Proficiency: Hands-on experience with computer/Material Management systems.
