About School Psych AI
School Psych AI is a platform built to help school psychologists, special educators, SLPs, and the rest of the IEP team move beyond reactive report writing and back into the full scope of their role. We're a small, practitioner-led, completely boot-strapped team. We're looking for someone who understands schools from the inside to help us reach more districts. If you are a team player, incentive-driven, and want to work in a startup environment, this might be the role for you.
About the Role
We're hiring a part-time Sales Development Representative to help us connect with school districts and special education departments across the country. This is a great fit for a practicing school psychologist, special educator, or related service provider looking for flexible, part-time income using the professional network and credibility they already have. Our team is 55% practitioners, and that is a big leverage point for us.
You won't be closing deals. Your job is to open the door, reach out to districts and departments, and book qualified demos for our sales team to take from there.
What You'll Do
- Reach out to special education departments and school districts (phone, email, LinkedIn) to introduce School Psych AI
- Book qualified demo meetings with departments of 3 or more staff
- Track outreach and booked meetings in our CRM
- Work independently on a flexible schedule, 10-15 hours per week
Who We're Looking For
This role isn't for everyone, and we'd rather be direct about that upfront than waste your time or ours.
We need a go-getter. Someone with real initiative and drive, who treats outreach as something to pursue relentlessly, not something to wait around for. You should be the kind of person who sets a goal and doesn't stop until you hit it.
You need to be well-organized. This means having an actual system for tracking who you've contacted, when you followed up, and what happened, not relying on memory or good intentions. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
You communicate well. In writing and out loud. Good grammar, clear emails, a professional tone on the phone. Districts are evaluating us the moment they hear from you, so how you write and speak matters.
You take feedback well. When we tell you something isn't working, you don't get defensive, you adjust. You ask questions when something is unclear instead of guessing, and you ask for help when you need it rather than quietly struggling.
You perform under pressure. Cold outreach means daily rejection and long stretches without a response. We need someone who starts each day with the same drive as the last, not someone who burns out after a slow week.
What We're Looking For
- Current or former experience in K-12 schools (school psychologist, special educator, SLP, social worker, or similar role) strongly preferred.
- Prior experience as a Sales Development Representative or in a similar outbound sales role is a plus, but not required.
- Comfortable with cold outreach and follow-up, phone and email.
- Organized and self-directed. This is a remote, flexible role with no direct supervision of your daily schedule.
- Familiarity with special education departments, procurement, or district decision-making is a plus.
Compensation
- Base pay: state minimum wage, 10-15 hours/week
- $5 for every qualified meeting booked
- $250 monthly bonus for booking 10 or more qualified meetings
- 2.5% commission on any district contract that closes from a meeting you originated
This is a real opportunity to earn meaningful supplemental income for the time you control. Compensation grows as your volume and results grow.
Why This Role
You already know the problems school psych teams face because you've lived them. This role lets you use that credibility to open real conversations with districts, on your own time, without leaving your current position.
To Apply
Submit a resume and a brief cover letter. In your cover letter, tell us about your background in schools (or in sales) and why this role interests you. Applications without both a resume and a cover letter will not be considered.
Pay: $7.50 - $16.50 per hour
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule

Application Question(s):
- This role is 10-15 hours per week with pay tied to results, not a fixed salary. Are you comfortable with variable, performance-based income? (Yes/No)
- Do you have current or prior experience working in K-12 schools (school psychologist, special educator, SLP, social worker, or similar)? If yes, briefly describe your role.
- Have you done outbound sales, cold outreach, or lead generation before (SDR, BDR, or similar)? If yes, briefly describe what that looked like.
- In 2-3 sentences, write a cold outreach message introducing School Psych AI to a special education director you've never spoken to.
- What does a typical week of your availability look like, and how many hours can you realistically commit?
