Job Overview
The Load Puller is responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling, staging, and loading building materials and lumber orders for customer deliveries and pickups. This position requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer service in a fast-paced outdoor work environment.
Responsibilities
- Pull and assemble customer orders according to pick tickets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Safely load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lumber yard and staging areas.
- Inspect materials for damage or defects and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts and restocking when needed.
- Provide excellent service to customers and delivery drivers.
- Work collaboratively with other yard personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or construction setting is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. regularly.
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
- Basic knowledge of building materials and lumber types preferred.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
Work Environment
- Outdoor lumber yard with exposure to weather, noise, and heavy equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and manual labor.
