SOLIS MI CORP. is seeking an SRP Piping Manager / Team Lead to lead process-piping operations for a solvent recovery and purification (SRP) system at an EV battery / electrode manufacturing plant in Lansing, MI.
This is not a hands-only pipefitter role. We are looking for a field leader who can manage people, schedule, quality, and multi-trade coordination on an active process-plant construction site — with the technical depth to run chemical/process piping to spec.
Project scope: installation of NMP solvent recovery and purification systems, including recovery towers, a purification tower, a tank yard, and the associated process piping and pipe spools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Piping Oversight (SRP / NMP)
- Oversee fabrication, erection, and installation of process piping for NMP solvent recovery and purification systems — recovery/purification towers, tank yard, and interconnecting process lines
- Manage pipe spool fabrication and field erection; verify installed work against isometrics, P&IDs, and specifications
- Ensure piping is installed to ASME B31.3 (process piping) and project chemical-service requirements
- Coordinate pressure/leak testing (test packs), flushing and cleaning, and turnover documentation
- Apply pipe identification and labeling per ANSI/ASME A13.1
Quality & Welding
- Ensure welding is performed to approved WPS/PQR; coordinate welder qualification and NDE (RT/PT, etc.)
- Verify material traceability for stainless/alloy and chemical-service piping
- Support QA/QC inspection, punch lists, and non-conformance resolution
Team Management
- Lead and assign work to pipefitters, welders, and helpers; manage subcontract piping crews when applicable
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, and safety performance
- Support onboarding and field training of new crew members
Schedule & Coordination
- Plan piping activities against the overall project schedule and turnover/commissioning milestones
- Coordinate with tower erection, equipment, electrical/instrumentation, CM, and PM teams
- Identify schedule risks early and propose practical field solutions
Reporting & Communication
- Report daily and weekly progress to the Project Manager or Construction Manager
- Communicate field issues, design conflicts (RFIs), and material needs clearly
- Support English–Korean communication when required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of industrial or process piping experience, including chemical or process-plant piping
- 2+ years in a lead, foreman, or manager role
- Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs, and specifications
- Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 process piping and U.S. jobsite safety rules
- Familiarity with welding requirements (WPS), NDE, and pressure/leak testing
- English required for jobsite communication
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with SRP, solvent recovery, NMP, or chemical process piping systems
- EV battery, semiconductor, or industrial chemical plant project experience
- Pipe spool fabrication and tower / tank-yard erection experience
- Stainless / alloy and high-purity piping experience
- Piping or welding certifications; multi-project or multi-site leadership
- Bilingual (Korean/English) strongly preferred
