Colliers Engineering & Design seeks an experienced Survey Manager to join our Survey-Geospatial Group in Syracuse, NY as a Department Manager. The hired candidate will be responsible for the professional, technical, management, marketing, administrative and financial aspects of the Survey/Geospatial Department. This individual will also represent the firm as expert in the Survey/Geospatial field. Responsible for managing the department to provide cost effective services to various Department Managers, Project Managers, staff, and other employees in a manner which produces an adequate profit for the Company.

Our firm is a national leader in the Surveying space, with over 400 survey staff nationwide, including a staff of over 70 in the northeast, with offices all across the United States. We are a recognized firm for providing advanced surveying solutions, with significant investments including terrestrial scanning, mobile LiDAR, and Unmanned Aerial Systems.

Reviews and manages Department operations to ensure the quality of the technical products.

Establishes effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for Department.

Implements decisions made by the Division Director.

Provides technical and management leadership to the Department.

Develops marketing program for Department Services in conjunction with the Division Director and Marketing Department.

Advises and assists professionals in other Departments when expert knowledge and expertise is required.

Manages activities so an adequate profit is earned on all projects handled by Department.

Reviews monthly productivity and man-hour utilization-rates to determine how Department can assist project managers, staff, and other employees to achieve the contribution to profit and overhead required to meet or exceed the company’s profit goals.

Prepares reports on Department activities for Division Director.

Acts as spokesperson for the firm in matters requiring Department expertise.

Assigns projects to department staff and schedules work.

Review time sheets of direct reports during a specified reporting period.

Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying / Geospatial preferred but not required.

10+ years Surveying/Geospatial experience with local knowledge of the New York market.

New York State Professional Surveyor License. Dual-license as Professional Engineer a plus.

Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Proficiency with Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, Civil 3D.

MicroStation/Open Roads experience preffered.

TopoDOT experience is a plus.
Compensation: $104,200 to $160,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
