District Farms is looking for a motivated Packhouse Team Lead to join the Packing Team assist in the daily harvest and packing of fresh greens. Prior experience in the food industry is preferred but not required. This is an opportunity for an energetic, self-motivated and organized individual to assume a unique position at an innovative and disruptive AgTech company. Responsibilities:
- Lead harvest and packing teams in daily production according to harvest schedule
- Ensure daily production goals are met based on standard operating procedures
- Train new members of packing team and provide updated training when necessary
- Track and record harvest and pack data points as part of overall facility analytics program
- Verify label, film, and sticker accuracy against pack specifications; conduct QC checks throughout each run
- Ensure adherence to highest food and worker safety guidelines and procedures and maintain records of associated logs
- Communicate effectively with all team members and supervisors on production progress
- Ensure cleanliness of harvest and packing area, cooler, as well as proper functioning of automation equipment
- Constant communication with harvesters to maintain production pace and quality
- Ensure proper organization and inventorying of packing material
- Coordinate daily/weekly pack schedule for pack team
Qualifications:
- Great problem solver who doesn’t shy away from challenges
- Well organized and able to handle multiple priorities
- Ability to excel in a hands-on, fast paced entrepreneurial, start-up environment
- Strong teammate, with the ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus, but not required
